Lord Krishna’s birth on Janmashtami was celebrated at midnight at Ramagiri with the recital of his incarnation followed by Deeparadhana. This was followed by Aradhana & Sree Rama Pattabhisheka. A special ‘Vada Mala’ was offered to Lord Hanumanji.
Lord Rama and Lord Krishna are one and the same, having incarnated on earth to destroy Adharma and re-establish Dharma.
The following day was the call to local children of the Adivasi Vadi to become Gopas and break the Dahi Handi tied up at a great height. After much acrobatic efforts the task was done amidst showers of water. The Swami Sathyananda Saraswathi Mandap echoed with shouts of Jai Shree Krishna. Then Prasad was distributed by Poojya Swami Krishnananda Saraswathiji. Finally there was Annadan in the dining hall.

In a land where great Kings served the people whom they ruled, it is only fitting that the current political class should be reminded of their bounden duty to serve the people. The revolutionary protest that has gathered steam under the leadership of Shri Anna Hazare is the need of the hour.
In our history, the great Lord Ram served common citizens like Guha and Shabari, Shri Krishna served the people and picked up their plates of food after meals…this made them kings and made them loved. Even God serves His subjects just as they serve Him. So should the current leaders remember that if they forget to serve those who chose them to lead, then existence shall correct that. So many tyrants have fallen, so it is a wake up call to the men and women in power to serve the people of India and not to neglect the plight of the common man.
We salute the struggle against corruption.

A summary of the grand Gurupoornima Celebrations at See Ramadasa Ashram , Ramagiri , on 15 July 2011:
The morning Pooja was completed by 8:00 a.m. followed by the starting of the recital of the Adhyatma Ramayana. On every Saturday as well as every important holy day the entire Adhyatma Ramayana is recited in Malayalam followed by the Pattabhishek Pooja of Sree Rama Chandra.
