INSTEAD of calling an all-party meet to resolve the Jammu and Kashmir row, the government would do well to try to understand the fury of Hindus and not limit the scope of the introspection to the Amarnath issue. Are Hindus angry only with the hypocrisy of the government on the land issue? Are there no other topics that make them furious?
Hindus are a peace-loving people. The average Hindu is easy-going and accepts you and your diversity, whether you are Christian, Muslim, Parsi or Jain, Arab, French or Chinese. He goes about his business and usually does not interfere in yours. In fact they take it a little further: They hate trouble and go out of their way to avoid it.

Today is India’s independence day. A great occasion to be remembered, marking 61 years of freedom from British rule. But Indians should ask themselves, are we really free?

- A Message from Swami Krishnananda Saraswathy -
Swamiji’s main philosophy revolved around the concept of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam‘. It means - ‘World is One Family‘. This family includes humans of all races, religions, castes and creeds, animals , plants, and nature in all its glory. When one realises the potent meaning of this small phrase, it will lead to peace, prosperity and enlightenment. The concept of Universal Brotherhood can be realised through Sanatan Dharma. It is a way of sacred life not possessed as a personal property by any priest or person, organisation or region. One must live in harmony witn nature, one’s fellow beings, etc. to achieve peace and tranquility. Otherwise only war and disharmony shall beset us all.
Protecting and promoting the life is the basic principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Life depends on breath. Everyone breathes the same air, one person exhales it, another inhales it. This breath supports the Prana. Therefore for prana to increase and flourish, the barriers based on narrow-mindedness that restrict the flourishing of life must be dropped. The principle of prana is the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
Swamiji’s life centered around this truth. He gave selflessly to all who approached Him. He helped selflessly all who turned to Him. He fought against Adharma because people were suffering. He achieved Yoga with the supreme spirit.
Yoga or ‘Union” with the Lord can only be gained by compassion for all of Lord’s creation. Those who wage religious war must realise this. Followers of Sanatan Dharma learn to shun hatred and jealousy . They surrender to God’s will, they don’t slaughter and slander and as such must never be deprived of their rights. A society based on Dharma will live like brothers and not enemies. When Hindu society strengthens itself internally , not based on hatred for others but with internal determination, coalescing and collaborating for the purpose of preservation of Dharma, those that campaign against the life-principle and parade religious elitism will be stopped. Religious hatred is the basis on which other societies are formed, but Sanathan Dharma is too high a philosophy to stoop so low! This is for the world society to realise. Do not promote hatred, do not deprive the legitimate rights of the faithful and peaceful. It will only lead to catastrophe! Let us all pledge to work towards the goal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam!!
