Lord Krishna’s birth on Janmashtami was celebrated at midnight at Ramagiri with the recital of his incarnation followed by Deeparadhana. This was followed by Aradhana & Sree Rama Pattabhisheka. A special ‘Vada Mala’ was offered to Lord Hanumanji.
Lord Rama and Lord Krishna are one and the same, having incarnated on earth to destroy Adharma and re-establish Dharma.
The following day was the call to local children of the Adivasi Vadi to become Gopas and break the Dahi Handi tied up at a great height. After much acrobatic efforts the task was done amidst showers of water. The Swami Sathyananda Saraswathi Mandap echoed with shouts of Jai Shree Krishna. Then Prasad was distributed by Poojya Swami Krishnananda Saraswathiji. Finally there was Annadan in the dining hall.
