The 8th Anniversary Celebrations of the Red Swastik Society, a sterling social service organisation , was organised on 12th January 2009 at the Hall of Culture of the Nehru Centre in Worli, Mumbai; It was also the World Youth Day – Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary.

Swami Krishnananda Saraswathy blessed the occasion and spoke on the need to to promote social work, our country’s heritage and youth power. He congratulated Red Swastik Society for the excellent work they have undertaken in the social field.

Swami Krishnananda Saraswathy spoke about the grand Sathyananda Sarovar Project at Ramagiri to provide water to many villages and tribals, and members of the society pledged their co-operation for the project.

Other dignitaries present at the function were – Sudhir Joglekar (resident editor- Loksatta) , Smt. Shubhada S. Gudekar ( Chairperson – Public Health Commitee MCGM Mumbai), Shri Deepak K. Tanna (Managing director – Tanna agro Impex pvt. ltd.), Dr. Smt. Indu Sahani ( Sheriff – Mumbai).
